For most of the history of enterprise software, delivery speed has been constrained by two things: access to engineering talent and the time required to translate business requirements into working code. Both constraints are being relaxed simultaneously.
Agentic AI allows a skilled operator — one who understands the business problem, can specify clearly, and can evaluate quality — to ship working applications in a fraction of the time that traditional development requires. This is not automation of the trivial. It is acceleration of the substantive.
The implications for enterprise technology leadership are significant. The organizations that learn to use agentic AI as a delivery mechanism — not just as a feature to buy in vendor software — will have a structural advantage in their ability to respond to business need.
